Hands, Clay, & Heritage: Your Guide to the 2026 Floyd Artisan Trail Weekend
There is a distinct creative energy that flows through Floyd, Virginia. Perhaps it’s the inspiring mountain vistas, or maybe it's the deep-seated heritage of self-reliance that has defined the Blue Ridge for generations. Whatever the cause, Floyd has evolved into a premier haven for world-class artists, makers, and craftsmen.
If you are planning a summer getaway to the mountains, there is no better time to visit than during the crown jewel of our local craft calendar: The Floyd Artisan Trail Open Studio Weekend.

Whether you are a serious collector or simply love a slow weekend of discovery, here is your curated insider guide to the must-see highlights of the 2026 trail.
1. Spotlighting Site 12: Deer Park Farm LLC
The magic of the Artisan Trail is how it weaves fine craft together with the region's agricultural beauty. This year, one of the most anticipated stops on the map is Deer Park Farm (Site 12). Known for its pastoral charm and deep roots in the community, this gorgeous farmstead transforms into an open-air creative hub for the weekend.
We are absolutely thrilled to share that Chapman Knoll Pottery will be participating as the featured guest artist at Deer Park Farm for the entire event!
We will be setting up our display on the farm grounds, showcasing our latest collection of vibrant, whimsical, handmade ceramics. If you’ve been looking for the perfect, brightly colored stoneware piece to elevate your daily routine, stop by Site 12 to say hello, feel the weight of our functional drinkware and bakeware in your hands, and meet the mother-daughter collective behind the clay.
2. Interactive Workshops & Live Demos
New to the trail this year, the event is expanding beyond open doors to offer hands-on educational workshops throughout the weekend. It is an incredible opportunity to learn directly from the experts. A few notable stops include:
The Floyd Center for the Arts (Site 1): Check out the barn quilt demonstrations on Saturday morning.
Abby Reczek Pottery (Site 6): Drop in to see a master functional potter at work in her creative studio space.
Wrenn Pottery (Site 14): Sign up for their Sunday afternoon workshop on making custom clay stamps to learn a bit of the technical artistry behind ceramic textures.
3. The Downtown Gallery Stops
While the country backroads hold hidden treasures, don't miss the trail stops clustered in the heart of town. Make sure to visit Bell Gallery and Garden (Site 2) and Troika Contemporary Crafts to view exceptional fine furniture, photography, and fine textiles that carry the distinct soul of Southwest Virginia.
