The Ultimate 3-Day Group Itinerary

The Ultimate 3-Day Group Itinerary: Sip, Shop, and Stay at Chapman Knoll

A Curated Escape for Girls' Trips and Couples’ Getaways

So, you’ve booked The Nests for your group—now what? Whether you’re here for a celebratory girls’ weekend or a relaxed triple-couple retreat, the area surrounding Ferrum and Floyd, VA is packed with hidden gems.

Here is our favorite way to spend 72 hours in the Blue Ridge, balancing high-energy adventure with our signature "pajama luxury."

Day 1: The Arrival & Sunset Social

  • Check-In (3:00 PM): Arrive at the farm and find your complimentary charcuterie board and homemade treats waiting in your Nest.

  • Sunset on the Redbird Deck: Gather the whole group on the Redbird’s expansive patio. It’s the best spot on the property to watch the sky turn pink over the valley.

  • Dinner In: Enjoy your first night by taking advantage of our Prepared Dinner Service. Let us deliver a from-scratch meal directly to the cottage so you can catch up without a noisy restaurant background.

Day 2: Wineries, Galleries, and the "Parkway Glow"

  • The Pajama Club Morning: Wake up slow. Your farm-fresh breakfast baskets arrive at your door. Dine in your pajamas on your private balconies before meeting up at noon.

  • Afternoon in Floyd (15 mins away): Head into downtown Floyd, VA.

    • Shop: Visit The Vintage Post for home finds or A New Leaf for unique gifts.

    • Stroll: Grab a latte at Red Rooster Coffee and wander through the local galleries.

  • The Wine Trail (2:00 PM): Choose your vibe!

    • Chateau Morrisette: For the classic, grand winery experience and famous dogs.

    • Villa Appalaccia: For an Italian-inspired "Alps" feel with incredible wood-fired pizzas and dry mandolin music.

  • The Golden Hour: Drive 10 minutes to the Mabry Mill overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a group photo during the "golden hour" light.

Day 3: Heritage, Hiking, and a "Sweet" Goodbye

  • Morning Hike (10:00 AM): If your group is feeling active, head to Fairy Stone State Park to hunt for lucky staurolite crystals or hike the trails at Rock Castle Gorge.

  • Ferrum Heritage (12:00 PM): Visit the Blue Ridge Institute & Museum right here in Ferrum to see the soul of Appalachian craft and moonshine history.

Ready to Round Up the Group?

The Blue Ridge is calling, and the Nests are ready. Whether you’re here for the wine, the music, or just the chance to wear your pajamas until noon, we can’t wait to host your next group getaway.
